Wayne Rooney's Son Loves to Dress up as Woody

clock Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 10:55AM
It seems that barely a day goes by without Wayne Rooney, England's most controversial footballer, appearing either in the newspapers or the celebrity magazines. But this time, it's actually Wayne's son, Kai, who is grabbing all the attention.  The Daily Mail recently featured a story about little Kai, who is the spitting image of his Dad, wearing the kids version of the Woody Costume from the hit Disney Pixar film, Toy Story. And, believe it or not the cute little toddler was actually wearing the costume as a christening outfit! Well, it sure does beat the traditional kids 'dress' in our opinion. Apparently some of the other kids also turned up in Fancy Dress- how cool is that!   At AFD Towers we hope this new trend continues- it will certainly make those Christenings far more colourful and fun! Don't forget if you want to see some more great examples of kids fancy dress browse through our childrens categoris and grab some inspiration!

Harrison Ford picks a fight with Chewbacca

clock Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 02:01PM
Yes, you heard it right! Hollywood megastar Harrison Ford, best known for his role as Han Solo in Star Wars,  decided to pick a fight recently with his former co-star and giant fur ball Chewbacca. The confrontation was of course tongue-in-cheek and was filmed as part of a spoof sketch for the American TV show Jimmy Kimmel Live. At one stage the exchange between the two megastars gets quite heated- “What are you doing here, you son of a b*tch?” growls Ford at the Wookie. “You think you can walk in here and say you’re sorry after what you did?”. It would appear from the sketch that some extra-marital shennanigans took place between Chewbacca and Ford's ex-wife (allegedly!). Clearly she prefers her men to be hirsute!  You can check out the hilarious sketch in all its glory below. If this sketch inspires you to recreate your favourite sci-fi characters why not check out our range of Star Wars Costumes. May the force be with you!

Captain America: The New Avenger is about to hit the cinema screens

clock Monday, July 25, 2011 at 09:34AM
Film fans are getting excited about the imminent release of one of this summer's blockbuster action movies, 'Captain America: The New Avenger'. The film, which is due to be released in the UK at the end of July, charts the early days and rise of Captain America himself and is of course based on the Marvel Comics character from World War II. A brave young soldier named Steve Rogers volunteers to undergo a series of dubious sounding experiments for a US army Super Soldier program (why are so many dubious experiments carried out by the US army in films?). They succeed in transforming Steve into a super powerful human weapon, but then the army decides to drop the program. Instead they decide to use him as a 'celebrity' and parade him across Europe to boost morale by performing in shows for American troops. Then, when an evil Nazi plot rears its ugly head, Rogers is called up to help to save his country, and in turn becomes our eponymous hero, 'Captain America'. It's a good old fashioned story about the age old themes of good and evil. The main part of Captain America is being played by Chris Evans (not the radio 2 DJ!), and he is supported by an excellent cast that includes Hugo Weaving, Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L Jackson. There's no dount that more and more people will become inspired to dress up now as Captain America, and it certainly helps that it's such a cool look! At All Fancy Dress we stock the officially licensed mens Captain America Costume. And if you're looking for something a little bit whackier then why not take a look at the Inflatable Captain America Costume. You can save the world AND make people laugh at the same time!

Daniel Craig marries Rachel Weisz in secretive Bond style

clock Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 08:54AM
Daniel Craig, who has always been known for his secrecy about his private life, has been speaking about his recent wedding to the English film star Rachel Weisz – but in true James Bond, style he was tight lipped about the details. The reticent Bond Film Star, aged 43, married Wesiz in a small ceremony in New York last month, following a fast paced romance. The romance caught the media world by surprise, as did their speedy wedding. Craig decided to reveal very little to the media, "I did it secretly, I can't tell you how I pulled it off. My private life is incredibly important to me and that aspect is more than incredibly important to me," he said. Fair enough - even world famous movie stars have the right to a private life! And whilst we're on the subject of James Bond, the rumour mills are reporting that the funny man (and musician) Rhys Ifans has been signed up to star in the next James Bond movie, which is due for release in the UK in October 2012. Let's hope the rumours are true, as Rhys would make a superb villain, and let's not forget that Craig and Ifans once starred together in the very dark film 'Enduring Love'.If you're a big fan of the movies then why not check out our superb range of film fancy dress.

Wayne Rooney ‘Rasta’ have a wig….

clock Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 09:40AM
Footballer Wayne Rooney is clearly a fan of the Rasta style, as he showed on a night out in France recently. Wayne decided to sport a full blown Rasta style wig, and we have to say it rather suits him. The Man United star has been in the news a lot recently, and not just for footballing reasons. He decided to combat his thinning locks by going for a full blown hair transplant, echoing what many celebrities have done before, including James Nesbitt and even Gordon Ramsey. Fair play to you though Wayne, you haven’t hid the fact from the world! At All Fancy Dress we’re big fans of wigs. It’s a great way to change your image, if only for a night, and have tons of fun. If you are a flamboyant kind of person then why not check out our selection of ladies wigs and mens wigs. It's becoming increasingly popular to wear wigs when partying or going clubbing nowadays, and its a hell of a lot of fun!

Celebrities dress up for Katie Price’s birthday party

clock Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 09:57AM
Mummy Don't Wanna Grow UpKatie Price recently celebrated her 33rd birthday with a fancy dress party, and everybody was of course waiting to seen what the glamour model would choose to wear. And, whilst there was no sign of Katie herself, the paparazzi were treated to the sight of many of Katie’s celebrity friends arriving dressed up in some cool looking outfits. Michelle Heaton was one of the first to arrive, and looked suitably fab and space age in the Space Cadet Costume. We’d have loved to have seen a laser gun though Michelle! Michelle’s husband Hugh Hanley arrived wearing the officially licensed Mr. Incredible Costume, complete with a ripply muscle chest. Ex-Eastenders actor Dean Gaffney arrived in the novelty Mummy I Don’t Wanna Grow Up costume, which went down a storm. And we’re pleased to say that Dean decided to buy this great costume from All Fancy Dress (thanks Dean!). Dean isn’t the only fan of this funny costume, as it’s a firm favourite with part goers, particularly on Stag Nights. Let’s hope that more celebrities decide to throw fancy dress parties in future. It’s great to see celebrities not taking themselves too seriously!
