Lady Gaga isn't known for being conventional, and that's why we love her! So, in her truly unconventional style Miss Ga Ga will be wearing Christmas fancy dress extra early when she opens up a new grotto style department in Manhattan's department store Barney's in November (wow, Christmas seems to arrive earlier every year!)

To all our American cousins we'd like to extend a very warm and friendly welcome, and to say 'Happy Independence Day!' It's a great opportunity as well for us Brits to throw a lavish Independence Day party, and what better way to celebrate our links with our American buddies than to dress up in American themed costumes?
If you're thinking of throwing an Independence Day themed party here are a few suggestions:
1. Get in some pumpkin pie- yum!
2. Decorate your house with some stars and stripes banners or flags.
3. Put on some classic American tunes- Bruce Springsteen or John Mellancamp should do the trick.
And if you're stuck for ideas for Independence Day Costumes here are just a couple of suggestions:
Cheerleader Costume
A great choice for the ladies- There's nothing more American than the sight of a pack of cheerleaders dancing with their pom poms (and the fellas aren't going to complain either!) This fabulous looking costume includes pink and black dress with cheer squad motif on front.
Captain America Costume
Ok chaps, don't be out-done by the ladies- You need a costume that not only says 'American' but actually screams it! The officially licnesed Captain America Costume, which is part of the Marvel Comics franchise, is a very popular choice for men at all times of year, but particularly around the 4th July. The costume includes deluxe bodysuit with a muscle padded torso, legs, arms and a headpiece.
Happy Independence Day!!

Big royal weddings don’t come around that often, so it’s fair to say that the whole country is getting excited about the upcoming wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. The wedding will be taking place at Westminster Abbey on Friday 29th April, and the day itself has been designated as a national bank holiday.
The bank holiday gives us all a chance to celebrate their wedding, and of course party hard! Here are just a few royal wedding party ideas to mark the special day in style:
Hold a Street Party
If you are fortunate enough to live in a street that has a real sense of community then why not get together with your neighbours and organise a street party? Whilst this does involve a lot of organisation and planning, this kind of party can be fantastic and is a great way of bringing your local community together. Some of us at All Fancy Dress are old enough to remember the street parties organised for Charles and Diana’s wedding back in the early 80’s (which were great!). One of us even dressed up as a giant tree!
If you do organise a street party, here’s a suggestion: Invite all the guests to dress up in fancy dress costumes, and hold a competition for the best dressed person- It adds a fun focal point to the festivities! If you love making people laugh and smile then why not check out our range of funny costumes. Don’t forget to dress the kids up as well. We have a wide range of children’s fancy dress costumes.
Organise a House Party
Alternatively if you fancy celebrating with just your friends and family why not organise a royal wedding themed house party? If you are looking for a fancy dress theme you could go for the obvious royal fancy dress theme, or alternatively why not consider something a bit more whacky and left field? Why not get all nostalgic and choose an 80’s fancy dress theme or even a star wars costumes theme?
However you choose to celebrate the royal wedding make sure that you do it in style… and have fun!!

St Patrick's Day Costumes for MenThere is only one day in the year where you can get all dressed up as a leprechaun and get away with it, and that is St Patrick's Day.
The bringing of Christianity to Ireland is credited to the patron saint and national apostle of Ireland, Saint Patrick. He is known for 2 major works- the Confessio, which is a spiritual autobiography, and Epistola, which is an accusation against the British of mistreating the Irish Christians. He was perhaps better known, however, for driving the snakes from Ireland.
“Driving the snakes from Ireland” is a symbolic term used to describe the end of pagan worship, of which serpent symbols were common and often worshiped.
So if you want to pay tribute to this remarkable patron and national apostle, then why not dress in a traditional Leprechaun costume? You can find a great range of St Patrick’s Day costumes for you to choose from, including these:

You have decided to throw a New Year’s Eve party, but where to begin? With AllFancyDress you are sure to throw the best party to end the year and begin a new year with. Here is our ultimate New Year’s Eve party checklist to make sure your party goes as smoothly as possible:
Select a fancy dress theme; this will really get your guests in the mood for the party. Take a look at our fancy dress costume collection today.
If you are making your finger food, get cracking as soon as you wake up on New Year’s Eve.
Create a colour theme and decorate the house according to it. A simple colour theme to have is red and green (you won’t have to take down as many Christmas decorations then!)
Add a bit of sparkle, New Year’s Eve wouldn’t be the same without it.
Present all the food and drink nicely on a table. Having everything in one place will allow everyone to mingle properly.
Stock up on plastic cups and plates (saves you doing the washing up the next day, and running the risk of having everything broken!)
Have a selection of party poppers and whistles. Brilliant fun when the clock strikes 12.
Now that all your tasks are done, wait for your guests to arrive and have fun! For even more party ideas, check out our New Year's party fancy dress costumes page!
Happy New Year!

There is a great range of fancy dress costumes to wear for this event and some amazing parties to wear them to.

Moondance (29 Great Suffolk Street, South Bank, London, SE1 0NS)
If you're into your hard dance then the place to be is Moondance's NYE party. They will be playing a night of hardcore, house, jungle and more. At Moondance you can expect five arenas, which will host 3,000 party people. This is definitely the place to be when celebrating New Years Eve in London.
Pacha London (Terminus Place, Victoria, London, SW1V 1JR)
Pacha is hosting a James Bond themed New Year’s Eve party this year, so expect only the best. The DJ line ups will be phenomenal and there is sure to be a fantastic atmosphere. Pacha is one of London’s hottest nightclubs and a place you need to be seen in.
Scotland Fire Festival – Stonehaven Fireball Festival (Stonehaven, North Sean Fishing port, South of Aberdeen, Scotland)
If you want to see something special over the night then you need to be on the high street of the North Sea Fishing port. There will be sixty people lighting up the skies with flaming balls attached to five-foot long wire ropes, whilst wearing their kilts. They will also be accompanied by pipers and drummers, to make the event even more atmospheric!
