This is the big week! Halloween is this Saturday and we need to get ready to be spooked so this list is not for the faint of heart! This week we give you 7 of the most scary films of all time, definitely not a list for the kids!
A Nightmare on Elm Street (1985) 18
When a vengeful spirit preys on the dreams of teenagers that got him killed, it is up to them to figure out the puzzle of why he is so vengeful without falling asleep. When a teen falls asleep he has free range on their dreams killing them in gruesome fashion in their dreams also killing them in reality! Can the teenagers stay awake long enough to figure out the mystery behind this cold dark figure?
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) 18
When a journey to investigate a possible vandalism to their grandfathers grave a brother and sister along with a group of friends take a detour to get to the old family farmhouse. Only they discover a group of crazed outcasts living next door. Upon being discovered they send a chainsaw wielding madman named Leatherface who wears a mask of human flesh to “dispose” of the group. Now they must do everything to stop this madman catching them!
Psycho (1960) 15
When a secretary named Marion Crane is on the run after stealing from her employer to run away with her boyfriend becomes exhausted when escaping in a heavy rainstorm. During her escape on the back roads to avoid the police she stops at a motel named Bates Motel. Upon arrival she meets the proprietor named Norman Bates, a young man who has a difficult relationship with his mother and a few other hobbies to boot.
The Shining (1980) 15
When a writer hopes to cure what they call “Writers Block” (which writers struggle to find new ideas or lose their creativeness) by becoming a winter caretaker for a hotel in Colorado he decides to take his wife and son with them, His son begins to visualise horrifying events due to his condition of psychic premonitions, and Jack (the father) discovers dark secrets that the hotel had been hiding but begins to turn into a maniac hell bent on terrorizing his family so that the secrets were never revealed to anybody else!
The Blob (1988) 18
High school students in a small California town discover a strange substance that is very gelatinous and melts any living flesh it comes into contact with. The substance then makes its way into the sewer system and inside it begins to grow in size uncontrollably. From time to time it begins to “feast” on any unlucky enough to be around a pipe leading to the sewer. When the military is sent to deal with the situation they may end up just giving the monster more food.
Childs Play (1988) 15
When gunned down by a detective, fatally injured murder Charles Lee Ray decides to use dark magic to imbue his soul into a children’s doll named Chucky. A loving mother buys the toy for her young son. When the young boy’s baby sitter is murdered by the evil doll he warns his mother about the doll who tries to warn people and convince the detective of the doll’s intentions before the young boy becomes the next victim!
Friday The 13th (1980) 18
Even with the history of murderous stories counsellors decide to set up a summer camp in the woodland area. Locals of the area continue to warn them to try to stop the idea from happening, the young counsellors take no notice of the locals and go ahead with the plan. Soon however they find themselves stalked by one of the most brutal and merciless opponents in Horror history! The one and only Jason Voorhees.
